Binghamton University is located one mile west of the city of Binghamton and is a short drive from major urban centers in New York and neighboring states. A number of bus companies serve the area, and the Binghamton Regional Airport provides major airline service. The University is 45 miles (about 1 hour) from Ithaca, 70 miles (about 1 1/2 hours) from Syracuse, 190 miles (about 3 hours)from Philadelphia, and 200 miles (about 3 hours) from New York City. Approximate driving time from Albany is 2 1/2 hours, 3 hours from Rochester, 4 1/2 hoursfrom Buffalo.

If you're traveling by car:

From Southern New England and Down State New York, take the NYS Thruway (87) to Exit 16 (Harriman Exit) to Route 17 WEST. Continue on Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From Northern New England and the Albany-Oneonta, New York area, take I-88 WEST to I-81 SOUTH to Route 17 WEST. Continue on Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From West of Binghamton, follow Route 17 EAST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From Syracuse and North of Binghamton, take I-81 South to Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From Ithaca, take Route 96B to Route 17 EAST in Owego. Take Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From Pennsylvania, take I-81 NORTH across the New York State border to Route 17 WEST. Take Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From Metropolitan New York, at Tappan Zee Bridge take the Thruway 87 NORTH. Take the Harriman Exit to Route 17 WEST. Take Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). at George Washington Bridge take I-80 WEST. Pay $1 toll at Delaware Water Gap. Cross Pennsylvania border and continue on I-80 WEST to Route 380 North. Proceed on Route 380 North to I-81 NORTH. Take I-81 NORTH across the New York State boarder to Route 17 WEST. Take Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From New Jersey, take New Jersey Turnpike North to Route 280 WEST. Take Route 280 WEST to I-80 WEST. Pay $1 toll at Delaware Water Gap. Cross Pennsylvania border and continue on I-80 WEST to Route 380 North. Proceed on Route 380 North to I-81 NORTH. Take I-81 NORTH across the New York State boarder to Route 17 WEST. Take Route 17 WEST to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. From Plattsburgh, take Interstate 87 SOUTH to I-90 WEST to I-88 WEST to I-81 SOUTH to Route 17 WEST. Take Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.

From the airport: The area is served by the Binghamton Regional Airport. The University is 70 miles (about 1 1/2 hours) from Syracuse and Scranton-Wilkes-Barre airports.

From the Broome County Airport, exit the main drive onto Airport Road. Go eight miles SOUTH to Rte. 17 West. Travel west on 17 to Exit 70 SOUTH (Route 201). Follow Route 201 and the SUNY signs to the traffic circle. Take first right off circle, crossing bridge to Route 434 EAST. The main entrance to campus is your first right.
