Graduate Degrees:

Cheryl Ann Fuller, MSN '80 has received the Pennsylvania State Award for Excellence in Practice. Dr. Fuller is an associate professor and coordinator of graduate nursing programs at College Misericordia and is co-owner of Women to Women, Inc., Wilkes-Barre, a nurse-practitioner independent practice in women's health. She received the award for the practice, which serves women of all walks of life, regardless of income or social status.

Staci Covey, MS '90, administrator of Guthrie Home Care, is also administrator of Troy Community Hospital . Staci was formerly associate administrator for Tioga Nursing Facility.

'78
Linda Zeccola, BS '73, '78
writes: “I am working as a nurse/lactation consultant at Seton Northwest Hospital and have a practice as a massage therapist. I have started a part-time job working with women recovering from eating disorders. My son, Carlo, got married last August, and my daughter, Gina, is a sophomore at St. Edward's University in Austin .”

'79
Barbara Ruth Stein Sprung, BS a psychiatric nurse practitioner and family therapist in private practice and also a clinical assistant professor at the Stony Brook School of Nursing, writes: “Enjoying a great location for living and working. [I will be celebrating my] 25th wedding anniversary to Lance this summer. Eric will be 13. Brandon , 19, is a sophomore at Binghamton .”

'80
Heidi Laska Butcher
writes: "Yes, Michelle, alumni from the class of '80 nursing are alive and well. I'm currently working as a rheumatology nurse practitioner in Southern California and for the last six years have mentored UCLA grad students. On the home front, Brad and I have been married 13 years (June 29th) and have two beautiful girls, Kristin, 11, and Megan, 8. Enjoyed seeing Annieliese (Kniffin) Savchak and Ruth (Katz) Stromberg (both class of '80) at our 20th reunion. But I had to ask, where were all the nursing graduates at the reunion?"

Rebecca VanOrder Preza
was promoted to lieutenant colonel on Aug. 1, 2004. She recently returned from Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and is currently the head nurse, Operating Room MAMC, Fort Lewis.

'89
Jeffrey Weiss '88 writes that he is a police officer in the 49th Precinct of New York and is practicing law part time, in his own private practice. Jeffrey and his wife, Stacy Kastens Weiss, have three children, Kyle, 10, Emma, 7 and Noah, 9 months. Stacy is a part-time nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital. The family lives in Palisades .

'94
Jennifer Louise Liska
received accreditation as a geriatric nurse practitioner.

'95
Jeanine R. Jerro
completed her MS at Columbia University and earned certification as both an adult and an oncology nurse practitioner. Jeanine also received the Faculty Award for Professional Excellence in a Sub-Specialty for her work in cancer genetics.

Weddings:

Elise Wilner '98 married Benjamin Weisman November 1, 2003. Elise is a research nurse at NYU Medical Center. Michelle Gursky, Kellee Powell, Dawn Geis, Stevye Zeitlin, Elizabeth Schroder, Lisa Vila Michelle Zeitlin, Jamie Allen, Stephen Greenfield, and Stephen Giordano, all '98, and Christopher Dennis '97 attended the wedding. The couple lives in New York City.

Michelle Kapp '99 married Joseph Lorge May 31, 2003, in Lenox , Mass. Michelle is a community health nurse for the Visiting Nurse Service of New York . Erica Montag '99 officiated at the ceremony. Cara Romano and Elissa Douchy, both '99 , and Ilana Cohen '00 attended the wedding. The couple lives in Queens.

Christine Eliza Cassidy '00 married Marc Andrew Cody May 1, 2004, in Buchanan. Christine is a registered nurse at Julia Dyckman Andrus Memorial in Yonkers. Erica Bohrer '00 was a bridesmaid. Kristen Cooney, Cristelita Naanos, Nicole Gill, Laura Colasacco, Liana (Caswell) Drumm, Tom Drumm, Nicole (Leonard) Goldfarb, Brigid (Davis) McCarthy and Christopher McCarthy, all '00; Scott Goldfarb '98, MS '00; Siobhan (Flynn) Higgins '91; and Michael Higgins '90 attended the wedding. The couple lives in Cortlandt Manor.

Births:

To Helane Brachfeld-Colvin '86 and husband, Stephen, a son, Sean Isaiah, Oct. 2, 2003. Helane is a nurse practitioner at New York University Medical Center . The family lives in New York City.

To Maura McAuley Carroll '94 and husband, Timothy, a son, McAuley Patrick, Aug. 5, 2003. Maura is a registered nurse at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. The family lives in Northport.

To Diane Spaccarelli Pulos '95, a son, John Nicholas, June 3, 2004. Diane is a nurse at North Shore University Hospital in Manhassett in the neonatal intensive care unit. The family lives in Massapequa Park.

To Julie Conrad Fenton '97 and husband, Christopher, a daughter, Shelby Julianna, March 13, 2004. She joins sister, Avery Christine, 2. Julie continues to work part-time as a nursing supervisor at St. Mary's. The family in lives in Amsterdam, N.Y.
