The Decker School of Nursing faculty and students are involved in many types of Community Service. The major ongoing projects are PETNET and TEENET.

In addition faculty are involved in projects with many community agencies such as: The Alzheimer’s Disease Association, Broome County Family Violence Prevention Council, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, and The Haven to name just a few. Both students and faculty participate in the Alzheimer’s Memory Walk, Breast Cancer Awareness Walk, and the Diabetes Walk. Faculties also serve on Advisory Boards and Boards of Directors of local agencies.

Decker students travel annually to the Dominican Republic to administer needed public health services to indigenous residents under the guidance of Decker School faculty member, Laura Terriquez-Kasey, RN, MS, CEN. DSON students that went to the Dominican Republic in June 2006 produced a slide show to share their experiences. View now.
