Dr. Svahn has a BS in Quantitative Biology from MIT and received the MD from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1965. He retired in 1999 from the full-time practice and teaching of general internal medicine at Bassett Healthcare. His clinical and academic interests include hypertension, mood and anxiety disorders and medical education.
